Week 2 – Jeff Maness – January 13, 2018
Each new day presents a new way for us to experience what God has for us. If we’re not careful, we can get caught in the Monday through Friday trap of just waiting for the weekend and actually end up missing out on what God has for us each new day. What if we entered each day with an expectation of experiencing something from God?

1. I have a place to belong
Psalm 68:5-6 5 Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—this is God, whose dwelling is holy. 6 God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
83% of LGBT people were raised in the church.
51% of LGBT people left their church after the age of 18.
18% said they didn’t feel safe.
12% said the Church was unwilling to have a conversation.
9% were kicked out of their church.
76% of LGBT people who left the church are open to coming back as long as the church makes some changes.
Only 8% said the church would need to change their theology of marriage and sexuality to come back.
The changes they are looking for are relational, not theological.

Lamentations 3:22-24 22 The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
Psalm 19:6 6 The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.
3. I have a purpose to live
