Fragile: Produce

Fragile week 3 – Jeff Maness – June 21, 2020

Big Idea: I can’t produce an unbreakable faith, but an unbreakable faith should produce some things in me.

Big Question: What should an unbreakable faith produce?

Main Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:13-18

Theme verse: 2 Corinthians 4:7 7 We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

2 Corinthians 4:13 13 But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.”

  1. Speaking out for God

Acts 4:19-20 19 But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him? 20 We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.

Acts 4:29 29 And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word.

2 Corinthians 4:14-15 14 We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. 15 All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.

  1. Seeking others for God

If only for the one — We do all we can to reach as many as we can, celebrating every one!

Luke 19:10 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

  1. Seeing things from God
