The goal of our gathering is not just for God, it’s also for our good. God doesn’t need us to gather together for worship, but He knows how good it is for us. So, what is good for us about our gathering?

Why? Connect

Vision — We exist to help guide people to experience life to its fullest, connect into meaningful relationships and make a lasting impact.

Hebrews 10:25 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

The Greek word which is translated “meeting together” means an act of assembling, or a gathering together for public worship. The command here is, to meet together for the worship of God, and it is enjoined on Christians as an important obligation to do it. — Albert Barnes

Big Idea: The goal of our gathering is not just for God; it is also for our good!

Big Question: What is good for us about our gathering?

Main Scripture: Hebrews 10:23-25

Hebrews 10:23 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

1. It models our unity

It Matters — No matter how you serve in the church, it matters for you and it matters for the church.

Better Together — We become the most like Christ when we are connected together through Christ.

Hebrews 10:24 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

2. It motivates us to action

Motivate = A provocation which literally jabs or cuts someone so they “must” respond.

New International Version = And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

Hebrews 10:25 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
